Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI)
The Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI) is a research-based system designed to help youth programs assess, plan, and improve their overall quality. It starts with training on the Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA) — a validated tool used to evaluate program practices and identify areas for professional development.
Programs begin with a self-assessment using the YPQA. This data is used to set specific improvement goals. Additional support, including training and technical assistance, helps programs meet these goals and build a culture of continuous improvement through the Assess-Plan-Improve cycle.
In Arkansas, programs can also opt for an external assessment conducted by a trained evaluator. Combining internal and external assessment allows programs to build stronger, evidence-based improvement plans.
